feet above sea level, this attraction provides a breathtaking view
of the city of Bluefield and East River Mountain. Observation deck,

The bridge carries traffic across the Bluestone River on Rt. 19
at Spanishburg. This is where Hank crossed shortly before his death
on the night of December 31, 1952. In recognition of the greatest
country songwriter who has ever lived, there will be an Annual Country
Bluegrass Jam, featuring arts and crafts and a flea market the second
Saturday in September.

October. Races begin Saturday evening at 6pm. The speedway seats

WORLD'S FIRST SHOW MINE. Opened in 1882. Spectacular 13 feet tall
coal seam. Mine operated for 73 years. The mine produced more than
44 million tons of coal. Open April 26 to September 30, seven days
a week, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fifty two degrees year round.
Group rates are available. Walking tours of the town of Pocahontas
may be taken with prior arrangements. National Historic Landmark.

The Princeton Railroad Museum is located in the historic district
of East Mercer Street. The replica depot houses a multitude of priceless
artifacts relating to the Virginian Railroad. Hours: Fri.

State Trout Rearing Station. Open for tours Monday through Friday,
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No admission charge. From Route 460 East
take Oakvale Exit (Rt. 112). Turn right at the bottom of the hill.
After passing the fire station take next right. Cross the wooden
bridge and continue four miles up Pigeon Creek. Watch for signs.

Wiley Cabin & Museum

This circa 1932 cabin was originally built by John Robert Wiley
and has now been relocated to the Princeton-Mercer County Chamber
of Commerce lot on the Oakvale Road. The museum houses three exhibit
rooms, the Ruth Keaton Linkous Library and a craft and gift shop.

Experience a palisaded primitive village built to duplicate archaeological
records of a village carbon dated 1215 with guides in primitive
